چکیده

Abstract The species Vigna unguiculata L. (Walp), commonly known as cowpea, is a multi-purpose legume that has been selected into three subspecies are divided grain, fodder and pod (yardlong bean) types. However, genetic bases for distinctions not well understood. purpose of this study was to apply genotyping-by-sequencing (GBS) current reference genome V. distinguish identify signatures divergence. collection 130 accessions included 128 cultivated from: 1) ssp. cylindrica , type; 2) sesquipedalis vegetable 3) unguiculata, grain type. Two wilds genotypes from spp. dekindtiana pubescens were used anchor phylogeny. A total 11,083 highly informative single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) discovered. Wild showed distinct fingerprints separated subspecies. Principal component analysis closer relationship between compared . Relative differentiation (with Fixation Index, F ST ) indicated the existence discrete selection. This work clarifies population structure, phylogeny, domestication cowpeas. Furthermore, significant differences types can provide valuable information future breeding in cowpea groups.

Genetic diversity and population structure analysis of spinach by single-nucleotide polymorphisms identified through genotyping-by-sequencing

Spinach (Spinacia oleracea L., 2n = 2x = 12) is an economically important vegetable crop worldwide and one of the healthiest vegetables due to its high concentrations of nutrients and minerals. The objective of this research was to conduct genetic diversity and population structure analysis of a collection of world-wide spinach genotypes using single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) markers. Gen...

Effects of Ni Deficiency on Some Nitrogen Metabolites in Cowpeas (Vigna unguiculata L. Walp).

Cowpeas grown in nutrient solutions, from which Ni had been removed by a ligand exchange technique, accumulated urea in most tissues. Urea levels were highest (up to 3.1 percent dry weight) in necrotic leaf tips. Urea accumulation in Ni-deficient cowpea tissues amounted to about 1 percent of the total N. The accumulation of urea was presumably associated with the catabolism of N compounds in ol...

Target Amplicon Sequencing for Genotyping Genome-Wide Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms Identified by Whole-Genome Resequencing in Peanut.

Genome-wide genotyping data regarding breeding materials are essential resources for improving breeding efficiency, especially in plants with complex genomes with a high degree of polyploidy. Several current breeding efforts in cultivated peanut ( L.), which has a tetraploid genome, are devoted to developing high oleic acid cultivars. Genetic maps for such breeding programs have been developed ...

Recent advances in cowpea [Vigna unguiculata (L

After decades of research on cowpea, significant amount of omics datasets are available and useful in understanding the genetic relationship between Vigna unguiculata ssp. unguiculata and other species belonging to the same genus as well as its genetic variation. Besides, the development of genetic map allowed the chromosome localization of molecular markers associated with disease resistance, ...
